Back to school season means autumn is right around the corner. When the mornings start growing chillier and the smell of pumpkin spice latte lingers in the air, you’ll find that Lancaster County is a fun place to experience fall! Here are some places and events to try this autumn!
Orchards: Nothing says fall like a big, orange pumpkin on your stoop or the crisp bite of a juicy apple. With the abundance of farmland here, there are numerous places that allow you to pick your own pumpkins and apples to decorate, carve, or consume. Local farmer’s markets are always fun to shop this time of year as well and there are so many to choose from!

Halloween Haunts: If you enjoy the scarier side of Fall, you may want to check out some of the Halloween attractions in the Lancaster area.
Field of Screams, located in Mountville, offers a few different haunted house type attractions. Located not far away in Berks County, Pennhurst Asylum offers similar attractions as well as ghost tours and paranormal investigations. There are also a number of Escape Room attractions throughout Lancaster County that might be fun to visit around Halloween time.
Farm Shows and Fairs:
Many of the townships around Lancaster County have farm shows and fairs around this time of year. If you’re into livestock and tractors, or rides and fair food, check out your local township or borough website to see if any of these events will be happening near you.
