The Spring season is a time of renewal and fresh starts, so with warmer weather right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to start planning a Spring-Cleaning Day in your rental!
Here are a few tips to have your place looking and feeling like new:
-Get rid of clutter
Go through closets and toss or give away clothes that no longer fit or that you haven’t worn in a year or more. Donate or sell items you have multiples of or no longer need. Digitize photos and repurpose memorabilia into art—like framing ticket stubs or postcards and hanging on the wall for decoration.
-Reorganize cabinets, closets, and drawers
Sometimes our daily lives are so busy we don’t have time to put things away properly and anything hidden behind a door can get forgotten. Taking time to sort through these areas can result in opening up more room to keep the rest of your space less cluttered.
-Look for other storage options
If you are in a smaller unit, look for storage options that work for the space you are in. Over-the-door hangers with pockets can hold shoes, jewelry, toiletries, and more. If you have space under the bed, utilize it with storage containers. Use vacuum seal bags for lesser used items. Furniture with dual purposes can also come in handy, such as a bench with a top that lifts for storage underneath.
-Deep clean areas normally passed over
Dust blinds, baseboards, and ceiling fans, wash windows, wipe down appliances and cabinets and drawers. These areas don’t usually get much attention on a regular basis but can make a huge difference in making your place feel clean and sparkling!
