It is finally starting to feel like spring outside! Which means summer will be fast approaching. The smells of sunscreen, lawn clippings, and barbeques will soon be filling the air!
With the summer months come lots of different events in the Lancaster County Area. If you find yourself with some free time this summer, here are some things you may want to check out.
Dutch Wonderland is an amusement park located in the heart of Lancaster County, it is geared more toward the younger kids and has not only rides, but also shows and games. Visitors come from all over Pennsylvania to experience the park, so if you have kids around 10 or younger, it is a good place to spend some time this summer.
If you’d rather spend your time out of the heat, try an air-conditioned theater! Dutch AppleDinner Theater is well known in the area for its plays and musicals. Their schedule of shows for the rest of the year is posted on their website and includes Fiddler on the Roof and The Wizard of Oz.
If you’re into the farm life and machines, Rough & Tumble Engineers Historical Association in Kinzers has different events throughout the summer including tractor pulls and exhibits or you can tour their museums. Here’s a link to their upcoming events:
Lititz is always a hip & fun place to experience events and this year returns their 4th of July Celebration at Lititz Springs Park with a free concert, food trucks, parades, and of course, fireworks. Here’s the link for more information on that:
For those who love the outdoors, Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area is a great place to hike, birdwatch, or just relax and enjoy the museum. You can check out their hiking trails on their website:
For more local events, you can check your local township or borough website. Individual towns tend to have special gatherings and events around the holidays, such as Memorial Day or the 4th and most are free to attend.
